ELM exemption

Hello! So I’ve been provisionally admitted into CSUN a while ago, and I’ve been looking at my portal to see if anything new was added. In the completed tasks, it states that both the ELM and EPT is not required. I met the minimum required SAT score in English for the exemption, but I scored a 560 in math, and the minimum is 570 for the exemption.

Is this a mistake on my portal, or is there something else I’m missing?

Thanks.

Oh and I forgot to mention. My friend who also got into CSUN said that his status for math is “not required-conditionally exempt” since he as well didn’t meet the requiremnt.

550+ for SAT exempts you from the ELM

Thanks for the help GM, but I should have mentioned that this is the new SAT. Unless they changed the requirements, I’m positive that the minimum requirement for exemption is 570.

Sorry, I was looking at the Old SAT score. You are correct it is 570 for the New SAT.

You can also meet the requirement by taking an approved Math class Senior year and pass with a C or higher according to the link.

Yes, but wouldn’t that put my status as “Not required- Conditionally exempt” like my friend? Cause Conditionally exempt means that I need to take a senior year math class (which I am) and also pass both semesters with a C or better (hopefully I am).

Oh haha, I got it now. My CAASPP score in math is in Standard Exceeded, so that exempts me from taking the ELM.

Yes, many different ways to meet the ELM exemption. Best of luck.
