Looks like 13 days to go until we hear about EA - very exciting! And congrats to all those who got in ED!!
I applied EA & am anxiously awaiting a decision! My sister goes to Elon & she loves it, but I am curious to hear what you guys like/dislike about it? So happy for those of you that have already gotten accepted!!!
I am a parent, but can share my daughter’s impressions. She really liked the size of the campus, the location and it’s beautiful. She thought the kids all seemed nice and cheerful even during fall 2020 (we went to an open house day this fall) She told me that she likes the way the school is set up to almost force you to take advantage of all the opportunities like research, study abroad and internships. She knows things like that are available everywhere, but she just gets the impression that the school just keeps them all front and center and make it easy for them to do. She thinks she’ll be well prepared for her next step after college if she goes to Elon. I agree with all her points. She wishes that football was more important - one of her big EC’s is marching band and the band is smaller than her HS’s band.
I was on a webinar last night - they said EA decisions will be out at 9 pm on the 17th.
Is anyone else on here from the West Coast? I know Elon usually gets some each year but wonder if Covid is now keeping those kids away due to distance? I wonder if my daughter chooses to go if she will be a lone west coaster!
Hi! She would not be alone My daughter is applying as well.
Great to hear! It’s a long way and my older one already flies to the East Coast time zone for her college. Since I’m from the East Coast I suppose I’m quite open to it, but they grew up as West Coasters! We never got to visit Elon in person since our trip had to cancel, but it’s still a top choice due to what we know about it.
We had to cancel our trip back east too. We did look at California schools the best we could over summer, as everything was closed. After the road trip my daughter decided she still wanted to go back east! (Sorry, California! lol)
We went for a self-tour in between home (Pennsylvania)and vacation. We didn’t get to hear about the school and have some insight about the program. But the campus is incredible and open.
Lovely brick buildings and the town seems to have everything you would need.
I liked the opportunity to study in either NYC or DC for a semester or year.
Does anyone know how active Greek Life is? We walked thru the housing area for it.
My daughter applied EA to Elon, and did not submit SAT scores. Because of covid, and all schools doing test-optional, she deciding not to take the SAT’s. Though, she just found out that Elon requires you to submit your scores when you enroll. Is this just for those who took these tests, or every single student? Will she have to take it in March in order to enroll if she is accepted?
Did anyone else lose access to the Fellows and Scholars application in your portal? We can still see the Accelerated Pathways part, but no longer can see that.
Yes. We seem to have lost access to those as well.
Hope it is just a portal glitch and not a sign of bad news
Mine is gone too
Are decisions coming out Friday?
Fellows and Scholars links have returned to our portal.
Yes, ours too. Hopefully unnecessary panic–serves me right from trying to read the “tea leaves!”
Same here!
That’s what most people are saying - BUT I was on an Elon webinar, and they said that decisions will be out at 9 pm on the 17th instead.
Wow. That’s only 3 days away!
