I created a website where we(Early Action applicants) can post our opinions about Elon, what we like about it... What most attracts us to elon...

I am hopeful that I have done my best.... I hope I have what it takes... Please post your opinions about the application... What you think your decision will be? and etc.

Hey guys, so I am so anxious to hear back from Elon!!! WE HEAR THE 21ST....
HOOKS/ACADEMICS: Chance me- ACT 27, GPA 3.5, Jewish(diversity), male- NJ, I interviewed unofficially, I have a passion for musical theater and have a great arts supplement, I have taken 2 AP courses and go to a private prep school...

Yes, The blog is scaring me …We will admit 51% of this year’s EA pool. The average recalculated core GPA for admitted students is 4.27 with an SAT average of 1960 or ACT of 28. You all have traveled near and far, have demonstrated an impressive desire to serve others and have excelled on the field and the stage. With a pool as large as Early Action, there are highly qualified students we couldn’t admit. That’s why “reading season” is so hard. "

I am nervous… is this GPA on the 5 point scale, because my school is on the 4 point scale

13all94, I don’t feel qualified to “chance” you. D got in ED with a similar profile (her EC’s were athetic and service oriented though, not so much stage) (and no, she isn’t a recruited athlete). I get the feeling having a passion for something is regarded well with Elon admissions. They want engaged, active students.

Their GPA is on a 4 point scale but recalculated. To find out how they do that, take your core classes (plus foreign language) only, then add 1 point to the grades from honors classes, and 2 points to AP or college dual credit classes. Then take the average to find your GPA per Elon’s weighting system. (at least that’s the information I got when I called and asked them about it). Also, Elon superscores standardized tests, so you can use your highest score in every section to see how they determine your ACT score.

I think Elon also wants students who really want to be at Elon (they don’t want to be people’s saftey school), so if you’ve demonstrated interest by visiting, contacting your admissions rep, etc. that would be good too.

I agree that the blog is a little scary. Remember those are the averages for those who were admitted. The actual class may have different stats. But there’s no question Elon is an up-and-coming school with student profiles that are improving each year.

Good luck . . .er. . .break a leg! I hope you get good news this week!

**** last summer I mean. My arts supplement is really good as well- I couldn’t commit to a school so I did early action. Really want this acceptance under my belt!! I would love to attend this school. Just getting really nervous

Hey I know EA decisions are supposed to come out friday but the Elon twitter account has replied congrats to some students that have tweeted that they were admitted. Has anyone else’s portal said a decision or does anyone know why some people got one?
