Don’t be discouraged if your child is deferred from EA. I am a poster with a child who was deferred EA but accepted regular decision. If deferred I would advise your child to get in touch with their rep to let them know Elon is still their number one choice. She called with some question but the intent was to let the school know of her interest. She wasn’t even sure it was her first choice but we pushed her hard to stay in contact with the school… She got in and it did turn out to be her first choice.

According to the NY Times Education Blog, just as Elon had the greatest decline in ED applications, 14.70%, it also had the greatest percentage of ED applicants accepted: 84.20%. Interesting numbers!

I hope it keeps up for EA too!

I wonder if it IS the economy–Elon’s cheaper than most, but the aid (at least what they publish) isn’t great because I guess they don’t have much of an endowment yet compared to, say, the Ivies. I know that will play a big part in whether they’re a realistic choice for me.

Re: Info sessions & school videos; the good the bad, the ugly… - I think that would make a great thread!

Did not see a video at Elon- fabulous tour guide though. I do remember good videos on other tours…

Elon’s EA Acceptance sent a really 45 sec. cute link to their website… We loved it!
