For those who have applied - just wanted to mention that if you log in to On Track - and look under My Documents - you will see the date they received the FAFSA(SAR), CSS Profile and Elon's own form. Good idea to check and make sure they have everything.

I also saw the following message on my son's account for the first time today:

Award information is unavailable until February 24 2012. Award information is only available to current or incoming students.

Does this really mean we will have an award letter that soon? I did not expect anything until early April.

Not expecting anything until April, but it would be nice to get it sooner. We got the list of charges for 2012 - 2013 yesterday in the mail. My D thought it sounded inexpensive (!) maybe because it is the least expensive school she is considering.

FYI. Just spoke to Elon FA office to find out if we should file the CSS. We filed the Fafsa and the Elon FA form. They said don’t bother to file we won’t be getting aid. Our EFC is too high. I guess I saved $18.

I seem to recall that last year Elon was late with the FA award letters - later than most other colleges and certainly later than Elon wanted to be. For a school that “runs like butter” it was a bit unusual. Hopefully they will have figured out what went wrong last year and resolved it for this year.

Can you give me stats and reward. D a Jr this year our efc is about 25,000. Stat. 4.25 weighted, 3.85 un lots of EC 1940 SAT taken it again though any thoughts appreciated

My best suggestion is to get the SAT close to 2000 - to get a $4500/year Presidential scholarship. That is merit aid. I would also recommend you do the EFC calculator on the website to see about FA eligibility.
