I totally missed the deadline on the fellowship applications, and I’m not happy with myself about that. So, my question is this: What can people get for financial aid if they are not in the fellowships? Do I still have a shot at something, or do they reserve their scholarship money for Fellows? They told me they would send out my financial aid package late January or early February, and I’m getting anxious before I get it.
Did you apply for the odyssey program? That is the need based scholarship group. I am unsure if there are any other scholarships that are given out besides the Odyssey and Felloes program. Elon is a great school, I hope they make it affordable for you!
Sorry you missed the fellows deadline! I hope you have applied for the need-based odyssey program as the previous post recommended. Unfortunately, I wouldn’t count on Elon for meeting demonstrated financial need. Aid of any kind (merit, need-based, or a combo) seems very, very rare outside those two programs. I would anticipate the aid package to suggest you max out on student loans and recommend parent-plus loans too. Hopefully, the school will offer you enough to make attending cost-effective without incurring too much debt. It’s a great university and priced well comparatively, but don’t count on aid.
Hi! I was selected to interview at the Fellows weekend for the Honors program and was told that notifications would be out on April 1st. I thought that my financial aid package would not come until then, but I just got it in the mail. Is this a bad sign or did I just hear something incorrectly? Will my financial aid be amended if I do get in or is this just a hint that I didn’t make it?
There is a 15k scholarship for Junior and Senior Years (read the fine print closely because student has to commit to attending for two full years after accepting award, even if AP credits put them a semester or a year ahead for graduation) but it is super competitive and the 15k is for both years not just one.
