Anybody need to know anything about Elon? I have lived in Elon for seventeen years and absolutely love the campus. Let me know if you need anything.

What is there to do off campus, in the surrounding towns?

Shops, restaurants, movies, etc?

Everything about Elon seems really nice to D Except those horribly skewed Girl/guy numbers. What is it really like?

DAsh30--My daughter and I will be visiting Nov. 12th. What can we expect from the weather? Do you know anything about their musical theater? Have you seen productions?

Thanks

Dudedad, this area, especially Burlington, is about three things: restaurants, restaurants, restaurants. There is a rumor that Burlington has the greatest ratio of restaurants to citizens in the southeast. No one eats at home. However, Burlington provides the typical other things a town normally has: movies, shopping, etc. The great though is the location. If you can't find something you want to do in Burlington or Elon, you have Greensboro and Raleigh within an hour.

curmudgeon, personally, I don't really notice a large disparity in the number of guys and girls. I have played basketball over at Elon countless times and hung out with friends on the campus, and the number of student males and females with us has always been about 50-50.

fosselover, The typical temperature around that time is in the 50s or 60s during the day (light jacket type weather). However, lately I have been going to school in shorts and a t-shirt since the weather has been in the low-seventies. It has been absolutely gorgeous here lately. As for musical theater, they have wonderful building right next to the pond dedicated to the arts and frequently have various performances in their auditorium. I have heard very good things about the performances from some of my teachers and friends but have never personally seen any. Hope your visit goes well.

Not sure if I was too helpful, but hopefully everything works for you guys. If you need anything else, let me know.

Kaplan shows the ratio to be 69/31 and PR 68/32, Girls/guys. Maybe there is some other factor at work when you have visited? Girls commute? I really have no idea but those numbers scared D away.Sounds like a real match for her otherwise.

Hey Dash30 I just visited Elon and I thought it was really cool I was just wondering a few things...like how are the parties?are the girls hot?are there a lot of gay guys?

Thanks

I'm a freshman girl at Elon...yes, it actually is noticable that there are more girls than guys, but not in a way where you could mistake yourself for being at an all-girls school or anything. There is only one all-girls dorm (and one all-guys dorm) and so it's easy to meet guys who live in your building/area and in classes, parties, etc. To the other question, yes, about 90% of Elon girls are gorgeous...it's pretty amazing actually.
