I'm having a difficult time deciding between Elon and University of Mississippi with the Provost Scholars Program (I didn't apply to the Honors College because at the time I wasn't heavily considering the school, unfortunately).
With financial aid, I could go to Ole Miss for roughly 9k a year and Elon 32.5k so far, since financial aid packages haven't been released.
I think if financial aid works out I would choose Elon. If I don't receive enough financial aid, I'm not sure if my family will be able to make Elon work or not.
I want to double major in Journalism and Political Science. I know Ole Miss has a great paper, but Elon also seemed to have a very strong communications department.
I definitely want to join a sorority and be active in volunteering wherever I go.
Part of my hesitation with Ole Miss is that I won't really fit in down there. I visited in March and liked it, but I'm still nervous about whether it would actually be the school for me or not. I'm from MD so at either school I will be from out of state.
The schools are different I know, I am just so conflicted and would love third party opinions.

Anyone at all?

You say that you haven’t received FA from ELon yet in your first post; did you get it today?

you also say that you wouldn’t fit at OleMiss; I think you are answering your own question here…

ELon is known for teacher engagement, very involved students and excellent comm and bus programs…it’s not a “fit” for everyone but it sounds like that is where you see yourself…

I know nothing about OleMiss other than it is a large state school; what is the % of OOS students? will you be comfortable there after growing up in the mid-atlantic?

Only you can answer those questions…and whether it makes sense to spend the $$

Off topic, but what were your grades and scores like applying to both these schools

No problem!

They were roughly this-
GPA: UW- 3.78 W- ~4.4 (4.36 or something)
ACT- 28
Top 10% of my class.
9 AP classes.

I received a lot of merit based aid from Ole Miss.
