I am considering auditioning for the BFA Acting program at Elon, and I was wondering what Elon is really like. Is the acting program looked down on compared to the musical theater program? Are the students nice? What is campus life like? I was also wondering if anyone had any audition tips/what to expect.

Abat17, I think you would get more answers if you posted this under the theater/acting thread or even the MT threads. Not sure if this is helpful, but my older D knows a ton of kids who went to Elon for acting and MT and never got the impression that acting was looked down on compared to MT. Elon also has one of the friendliest campus cultures I have run across in many college visits.

Acting majors are certainly NOT looked down upon in comparison to the MT students. Acting majors and MT majors take the same acting courses and are mixed together in classes. Also, acting majors often audition, and get cast, in the musicals, just as MT majors do so for the plays.

My oldest son loved Elon. The students are very supportive of each other, and they consider themselves a family.
