Email 3/4 & 4/4?

Has anybody received this yet? I want to make sure I'm not the only one. My last thing was received on 10/08. Everything under WA says it's been received. These are the only two emails I've received...

Application Submitted
Application Received

Besides registering for the Friend Account, that's it. Is this correct? I want to make sure I'm not forgetting something and hurting my chances.

i got those too as well, plus one that told me to make a WA account.

Alright, well it looks like were on the same page then.

same with me...

so 4 emails and everything received on WA means your app is complete?

This year I think they changed it. If you read the website it sounds like they want the applicants to rely on WA to see if everything is sent in.

Was anyone able to check their status before the 2-week post application submission time? Or do you really have to wait the 2 weeks to get your status.

I was able to in about 12 days

Can we check before the suggested 2 weeks minimum? I don't see why it should hurt, but the warning in the email seemed rather strict...

Am I being paranoid? lol

haha....i was kind of thinking the same thing...unfortunately i couldnt stop myself from checking two seconds after i got the email....but i think they just didnt want people calling and asking abotu their stuff before they had a chance to get it up there..

If I remember right from last year, the average time between receiving the e-mail and checking your status is approximately 3.6 seconds.

peggy - lol!

On 10/8, my son received an email that his app was received. We could access Wolverine Access (after making the Friend account) but there was no verification that transcripts , etc, were received for exactly two weeks. There was a Decision link in Wolverine Access on 10/23.

^ok...so same with me....so i guess i suck because i dont have a decision yet...so i will get a deferred/rejected letter soon?

awesome

helpmegetin!, we don't know how they decided on the first batch of acceptances. We can only speculate. Maybe they evaluated apps with UM ID numbers that began with a certain digit which also had GPAs/ACTs in a certain range. Maybe it was last names in a certain GPA/ACT range. We just don't know. It was good strategy though to release some acceptances early. I have already heard of some kids with acceptances who have decided not to apply elsewhere,

Sending you good wishes that you will receive good news soon. Just hang in there.

haha..thanks micromom....
im just incredibly stressed and paranoid...

congratulations to your son ! :)

help: haha, if those were the only ppl getting accepted outright ER, then there would be no use in applying after the first week of Oct.! There are a lot of factors that go into it, like residency, geographic location, etc., before they even get around to the scores, etc. They probably just accepted the "shoe-ins" first, because they are the best applicants, and they want them to attend. Relax, it's more fun when you have to wait four times as long.

im sure thats true...im just freaking out unneccesarily because some of my friends got in already and i didnt....unfortunately im already an incredible neurotic mess....if i have to wait 4 times as long then im suing UMich and charging them for the costs of the therapist i have probably always needed...:)

haha

well, when did you apply? the only ppl i know of who got in had like a 35 on the ACT or submitted everything by mid-Sept.

i applied mid-sep but my app wasnt received until 10/8...i had a 33 on the ACT...but my gpa wasnt so awesome because of an AP overload junior year...so im most likely going to get deferred because of the gpa thing...but hopefully my senior grades will make up for it...
