Email confirming ECs?

I got an email from an adcom asking me to send in a sample of my writing for my school newspaper. It's not something I especially stressed in my essays (though I did mention it), so I thought this was a little strange. I did talk about it a bit in my interivew, but again, I didn't stress it at all.

Has something like this happened to anyone else? Any guesses on what it means?

Other people on this site have had requests for further info regarding extracurriculars. So it's not unheard of. Send your best sample :)

yepp... same thing happened to me. I didn't really stress music in my app, but I got a mail saying that they would like to see some DVDs of my performances since they thought that it's a pretty big part of my life. I send them something pronto, so I guess just do the same and hope for the best, ^^

My admissions rep called me about one of my ECs--a unique initiative that I established. I won't go into too many details about the specifics because I like my anonymity on the internet, but the rep seemed really excited and wondered if I was going to continue it at Harvad. They asked me to send the link of my website front, and I wrote another essay depicting my work with the program.

I hope this is a good sign!

yea, sometimes they want to see how involved in your extracurricular since for activities like music, one can be very involved or not at all
