okay this is the email i got.....

Leah, a Priority Mail package from the University of Richmond is on its way to your mailbox right now.

This Priority Mail package contains very exciting news regarding the application you submitted to the University of Richmond, and time-sensitive documents that we ask you to read through carefully, and promptly return to our Office of Admission.
.....

so is this their way of giving you a heads up about admission? or could there be something else "exciting" ?l0l. did anyone else get this? i guess only time will tell

Leah

I got it...we're definately in...

yea i got the priority mail envelope... it had the acceptance letter in it :-D

cool., when was it postmarked? i hope mine comes today. l0l did it have financial aid info in it?

The f.a. is enclosed in a separate envelope. My decision did come USPS Priority Mail.

so did you recieve the f.a envelope yet? and i read from another post about a scholarship you got, which one was it? any more info would be extremely appreciated ! i'm getting soo anxious now about the whole college thing, l0l.

Leah

I got the email, too! but I am working away from home right now, so I don't know if I got the package yet.

Congratulations to the rest of you!

i got the email on friday aswell, i really hope the fin aid is enuff to attend, i;d be crushed if its too little. good luck to you all.

I got the email regarding the exciting news, but it was followed by a message saying that the good news was that I just saved a bunch of money on my car insurance by switching to Geico.

Haha...just kidding...got the official letter in the mail today saying I was excepted. Congrats to everyone else who got accepted. I'll just wait another few days and see where else I got in before deciding, but its nice to know I got into such a nice school as Richmond.

congrats. what other schools are you waiting for? also did it come with the financial aid information?

No financial aid was included. I didn't apply for financial aid though.

I'm waiting to hear from Penn (deferred ED), Yale, Cornell, Brown, Dartmouth, Bucknell, GW, F and M, and I already got into Vermont.

For those of you who didn't get in, don't feel bad. The letter said that only 750 of 5400 got in. Thats only 14% Its really a tough year, and I don't expect to get into more than a few of the other schools I'm applying to. Probably 0 of the ivies. Anyways, good luck to those of you still waiting to hear.

I think they meant they had 5400 applicants for a class of 750 -- they accepted more students though because I'm sure half of the applicants who got accepted won't attend -- mostly due to $$$

hey worldshopper, i saw from another thread something about a scholarship? did you get the richmond scholar thing, or was it something else?

i didnt get the letter today, wasnt it a priority mail package.

Leah0606: No SCHOLARship, just grant money. I previously posted it was $40K but that is a mistake. It is $37K but all grants. It was very generous and truthfully if I get in to UVA, I will probably go to UR. Yea, I know a lot of people would say "WHAT????". UVA "might" be a "better" school but for me and my needs, UR is better. Applicants should go to the school where they believe they would most likely thrive, not the school that is ranked #1 or whatever by U.S. News.

ohh well that's still awesome. i hope my financial aid is generous; that's the only way i can attend. At this point though, UVA is still my first choice! ::fingers crossed. ::

Yea, UVA is a great school. UR is expensive. My grant is only good for one year.

question... i applied to UR, but I haven't gotten an e-mail or a letter yet. does that mean i didn't get in? its a bit of a reach for me so I wouldn't be too surprised...

Hey, guys. Today I asked U of Richmond about any missing materials and they told me the following:

"We will inform you of an e-mail decision within the next few days."

Can that mean that this is a rejection?
Similar to you I want to get the exciting news e-mail. :)

My quest is:
Do they send e-mails for rejection?
