Email from Admissions Officer Requesting Phone Chat

Alright everyone, I just received an email from the admissions officer for my state that is requesting a short (15 min.) phone conversation, because "We are reaching out to
many of our strong candidates to speak with them personally and see how things
are going during senior year."

Anyone have any idea what this means or signifies? Is it just a second interview? Anyone else get this?

I did. Though the Admissions officer referred to it as an interview. I also got a phone chat through Skype. It was fun and relaxed. Good Luck!

did he or she give more of a reason as to why they were conducting this second interview?

He said it was just to get to know me a little better

well I’m hoping it’s a really good thing, but in that case it’s probably just a good thing, right?

“Strong candidates”
^
That is a good thing

Are you an international applicant, OP?

Nope, I’m from New England.

If Harvard thinks you’re a “strong candidate”, I’d imagine that’s a good thing. Congrats! :)

I was in a very similar situation, only the interviewer asked me to go down to Cambridge. It went very well; I hope that these are good signs!
