Just curious if anyone else received an email today confirming that they don’t intend to apply for financial aid? It was sent to the parent’s contact emails in our case.
I didn’t get one because I am applying for aid but receiving the email makes sense because today is the financial aid deadline.
Many schools don’t do any awarding of merit or FA until the forms are filed. If you aren’t applying, they could go ahead with the merit.
@tesla123 ahh, that makes sense now. Thanks.
I got the email and actually changed my son’s intent from yes to need based aid to no for need based aid. We did FAFSA and our EFC is more than the cost of Case so I figured why go through the process of filing CSS. My son’s portal updated to show his app is complete. But also interesting I then signed in again and was taken to a course registration page with professor communication, etc… Anyone ever see that?
We got the same email here for my son. We don’t qualify for any need-based aid based on any Calculator around and so we’re just ignoring the email.
@Kona2012 it sounds like you found the Cavas app as well!
I also am on a Canvas app!
There is a spot with courses!!! I have the Canvas app on mine, too. Is that a good sign?
The Cavas thing is blank, though. No courses show up. It just says welcome to Canvas, has a dashboard, ECT.
So do you all think its significant? Or normal access?
I don’t know, it is brand new to Case, I had hoped it was a promising sign, but it could just be hopeful thinking. I would like to call and ask, but I don’t want to jinx my son… CWRU is just such a perfect fit for him, he is actually excited about getting in there.
Is it mid-December yet? I think we’re all getting anxious
@Kona2012 @Proudmom2023 @equationlover just curious, did you or your student apply EA? Or ED?
My son applied ED
@NovaMom93 Applied EA
@NovaMom93 what about yours?
@NovaMom93 EA
EA here. Best of luck to all - the next few weeks will be loooonnng.
I remember last year people were wondering if logging into Blackboard meant anything.
