I emailed my regional rep about two weeks ago to update him on some things (I was deferred). I didn't get a response back, and it seemed like the type of email that would get a response. I also didn't get an email back when I sent him an email in October. Do you think he got it and just didn't respond? Or is it Yale policy to respond to most emails (or the opposite)? Has anyone else gotten emails back from their reps? Thanks.

I sent my regional rep (Jose Ramon) an email in november and got a reply back the next day. But maybe other regional reps are different in when/if they reply to emails. What region are you in?

I e-mailed my rep in January, and I got back an automatic message saying that he was out of his office and busy reading applications. He never responded.

Peter Chemery? Maybe sometimes it is more efficient to call them up instead...

As for updates, would they prefer it in writing? Could RD people send them updates?

Updates could be included in your mid-year report, either written by your guidance counselor, or submitted in the same envelope with your mid-year report. Either way will be less trouble for the admissions office. The preferable way is probably to have the guidance counselor put the updates in his/her report, as space allows.

The admissions office is way too busy this time of year. Don't believe that they haven't read your update. It would have however been preferable for any new information to be provided in your mid-year report.

Right, I think it is a busy issue, don't take it personally. Mine was very chatty and quick to respond early in the process but then did not respond. (Not like I was bugging him, tho; legitimate emails).
