It's simple psychology. You take things into account as YOU want to see them. Odds are it was mailed to everyone, just because you got it and heard of a few people that didn't means nothing, you're just trying to beat meaning out of it to make yourself feel content and secure. It's just human nature.

1 more hour and we'll know for sure!

fbxcore -- the thing is, a lot didn't get it, and 3 different email forms were sent. That's what made us curious.

wait, aren't there 2 hours left?

wow sytem is being updated

sigh....im not looking forward to getting rejected

waiting is intense!! Stupid email #3 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The system is being updated. Please try again later.

Thanks for your patience.

ahhhh i seriously need to know whether the email meant anything. although i'm well prepared for a rejection anyway because my stats are way below average -_-

i know but i got email #3 really dont think it means much haha i think we all got our hopes up a little (a lot) to high

We'll all find out very soon whether there was any meaning to the emails and who got them. When my son received email #3 way back at the start of this thread, I honestly couldn't believe that UCB would send out such a provocative email unless they intended to admit. In essence, the email seemed to be saying: don't fall in love with the UC(s) that admitted you--those UC(s) that truly want you--because you should wait for the best UC (worth the wait!). This seems like a heartless message to send to 48,000 anxious students (if indeed it was meant for all applicants) if the intention is, after making them wait another terrible week, to reject over 35,000 of them. Because I'm aware that universities have a responsibility to be careful in their communications, I hoped email #3 was a likely email. Otherwise, UCB had blundered and hurt an awful lot of students.

Perhaps having a place to come and vent was helpful. And everyone loves a mystery.

Best of luck to all who are waiting for good news.

i feel you guys...i did not even expect to get in before i got mail#3...now all of sudden im really pumped up...dang...

haha we will all be humbled together if those of us get rejected who got email #3

its 3:33 here AH

it's 3:41 here!

Aahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh Hurry Ucb!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Apparently someone called Cal Admissions and asked them when it was going to come out; they said 3:30. Well, this is what they meant by "We're worth the wait!" I cracked the code guys.

:x

its up! im into computer science1
