Email name

Hi,

I was originally going to do FirstinitialLastname@berkeley.edu/email but someone already took it.

Considering future employers, would it be bad to have some numbers in my email (ie. jsmith09@berkeley.edu)?

Or would it be better just to do Firstname.Lastname@berkeley.edu (ie. john.smith@berkeley.edu

Thanks!

just do

johnsmith@berkeley.edu

You can't have more than 5 letters in a row. Kind of a strange rule...

The five letters in a row is for passwords, not for email names.

I'd give it a try with first-initial, middle-initial, last-name. Or, maybe just the three letters of your initials.

I was lucky enough to be able to claim "mlu". You might be able to do something of similar length.

I don't have a middle name

I tried both initials but they were already taken.

My first name's 8 letters and my last name's 5 letters. I'm thinking that firstname.lastname@berkeley.edu would be a little too long?

what if you did lastname.firstinitial, like Smith.J@berkeley.edu?

Have you tried just your first name or last name?

how come nobody likes firstnamelastname@berkeley.edu?

excelblue, yep, both were already taken.

Smallz3141, I was considering either that or that backwards -> j.smith@berkeley.edu

Or even.... JohnS@berkeley.edu

Don't worry, my name is pretty long too and I did the

lastname.firstname@Berkeley.edu method

"The five letters in a row is for passwords, not for email names."

Doh.
