I saw a post in this forum from last year showing people’s acceptances on March 10 via email. I assumed this was still how American notified applicants and then followed up with an official letter. But i emailed AU Admissions and they told me that there is NO notification by email! (only through mail)

This seems pretty contradictory. Anybody know the real story here???

I applied as a transfer and got my acceptance via email and then the official letter a couple days later, but maybe that's just for transfers, though probably not.

Ok I applied to AU as well. I also applied to Michigan State and though they tell you that ur only supposed to know through mail, i got an email notification of acceptance as well. I have a theory. I think it depends on the admissions evaluator. if ur lucky to have a nice one, she/he will email u. in my case at Michigan State, the admissions evaluator emailed me, not the office of admissions.

And, a few mentioned that their financial award packet showed up in their student portal before they actually received word that they had been accepted, lol.

I actually received an email notification of my admission to American today. I applied regular decision and didn't expect to hear back this early so some of you guys may have received or will receive an email today or later this week notifying you.

Can you guys post stats, including what type of application you used? I'm just wondering about this cause I was told multiple times there was no email notification!?

With this many people getting emails already, I can't believe that when I asked AU admissions counselors if there would be emails, they all said NO.

OMG!!! I just got mine! this is exciting! congrats to everyone else!
