Email regarding freshmen orientation?

To anyone who has already attended freshmen orientation, did you receive an email with details on what to bring, times, etc. prior to orientation? My session is next week, however I have yet to receive any such email. Am I missing something or do they just send them out Sunday/Monday?

You will not get an e-mail… You should have gotten something in the mail. Just get on the
Bealonghorn site and search orientation. There should be some info there.

We didn’t receive an email or anything in the mail either…Any advice on what to bring? My son is attending this week.

[Office of the Dean of Students - New Student Services - Summer Orientation](http://deanofstudents.utexas.edu/nss/sumorient.php)

That page has several really helpful links that should give you all the info you need.

Thank You! That link was very helpful! I also found my son’s orientation confirmation at [Office of the Dean of Students - New Student Services](http://www.utorientation.com).

The link posted above is not correct…The correct link for orientation confirmation is utorientation.com . I left out the www hoping it will post correctly this time.

What exactly does the “orientation confirmation” look like?

It’s titled “Summer 2010 Orientation Registration” and has the dates of your child’s orientation, how many nights in the dorm, any tests he/she has registered to take, and the amount you paid.

Just so y’all know – I was never asked for this confirmation letter at any point during orientation. I thought I was going to need it, but I guess not!

I don’t even think I got one last year.

Another thing…if you paid for the BBQ, they will have your name on a list, so no need to bring a confirmation for that either.

When I went to the BBQ 2 weeks ago there definitely wasn’t a list and I was told several times that it was 100% free. I believe that included parents too. I guess this is new?

Sorry for the confusion ^^^ The BBQ is free for the students but it is 25.00 pp for parents. I am a parent  I was concerned before I went because I couldn’t find my recipt for when I paid for the BBQ. It was not needed, as they had a list of who paid…the food was really good and it is well worth attending! My D got three free T-Shirts there. :)

I think they actually check that you are wearing a UT Orientation name tag, and they let anybody in wearing one. There was no list.
