<p>I want to send an email to a current Penn student. Is there a specific format to email addresses (i.e. <a href="mailto:john.smith@upenn.edu">john.smith@upenn.edu</a>)?</p>
<p>it varies by school and there is no common format for the part before the “@”…so it could be anything - jsmith, john.smith, johns, johnsmith, johnsmi, johnsmith4, etc. </p>

<p>i still have my @wharton.upenn.edu account forwarding to my gmail account and it continues to work that said i can’t access it anymore via webmail.wharton.upenn.edu. </p>
<p>you are also assigned an alumni email, however, I’ve never used mine since my old one still forwards. :)</p>
