D received an email this morning from Williams asking her to confirm that she is not applying for financial aid or alternatively to apply forthwith. I'm thinking they wouldn't do that unless she was going to be admitted. Agree?

gek, sure sounds like it, doesn’t it?

i am assuming she never formally applied, right?

She applied for admission to Williams but not FA. As I recall there is a box to check on the common app indicating you are not applying for FA and that was checked.

gah that’s not good for me. i didn’t apply for FA and i didn’t get one of those emails…

^Likewise. But Williams was a long-shot for me anyway.

same here. oh well. at least now i know.

Ooh; so if you didn’t get one, it’s basically a rejection, eh? Yeah, “oh well. at least now i know.” I wonder how many people in CC got one?

I doubt Williams sends an email like this to EVERY accepted applicant that did not ask for FA. Why have the check box on the application if they are going to ask later, “But are you SURE you don’t need FA?” It seems like there’s more to OP’s situation than we understand.

You may want to contact the school to confirm her acceptance and see if they need any additional information.

^^^Mrsc: You could be right but I sure don’t know what that could be. We have a pretty standard situation as far as I can tell.

I don’t think this email is sent to everyone who applied and was accepted and didn’t apply for financial aid. There seems to be some confusion in this particular case. I don’t think all the people who didn’t get this email should assume they didn’t get in.

^ Agreed, but I do think that it’s a good sign for gekko’s D, though. I don’t think she’d get that email if there wasn’t some good news behind it.

darn I didnt get any email and I didnt apply for finaid

do you guys also think it’s a good sign that they sent me a form for a noncustodial parent waiver petition last week? i guess they wouldn’t do that unless they were somewhat interested in me, but would it be safe to assume that I won’t be, you know, rejected…?

I got an email asking me to confirm that i wasn’t applying for aid to CMC and i got in ! i think its a good sign. ur daughter is probably accepted :)

Hi everyone, good luck with your apps and congrats if you have a place.

Does everybody receive mailed decisions? Or are they only posted online both for admitted and rejected applicants?

Online and mail methinks.
