Email waves?

So as far as I know, out of the few Ivies I've applied to only Harvard sends emails regarding decisions. I've read a couple of posts suggesting that Harvard sends acceptance/rejections in waves(with the acceptances obviously arriving right near 5 pm). Can anyone confirm this theory?

Sure I can confirm this.

…

In 20 hours, 7 minutes and 26 seconds…

(Seriously mate, we know nothing until the actual emails get sent. No point in speculating for now).

I don’t know much about this “wave” theory, but here is some official information: [Harvard College Admissions § Applying: Email Notification of Decisions](http://www.admissions.college.harvard.edu/apply/application_process/email.html)

Hmm, if this was true then we’ll have people freaking out that they got rejected even before the email arrives. Probably includes me too haha. I hope that’s not true.

no. don’t worry about it. They send them out in waves. But I don’t think it’s based on whether you were accepted or denied… they just happen to come in waves. when the waves come… well that means nothing

19 hours and 29 mins!!!

58 i mean whoops haha

This is anecdotal, but I got my email at 5:01 and was accepted. My friends got their emails around 5:30 and were rejected.

Got mine at 5:02 and was accepted. I don’t know about those that didn’t get in, sorry.

^ Edit: I just checked, and mine was actually sent out at 5:02 as well.

My boyfriend got his at 5:05 and was rejected. I SHATTER YOUR PERCEPTIONS!

I still haven’t received a thing. 11:45 EST… I blame Hotmail. lol.

^uh dude…you’re a day early. This year, decisions will be released starting 5pm on April 1, not March 31…so blame microsoft later :P

I see… Perhaps I should go get some sleep then? LMAO

^ try sleeping in for 16 hrs… so you wont have to wait that long when you wakeup

Oh, 1337 (love your sn by the way. v. subtle), you poor thing. Waiting up for the past almost 8 hours, and it, like Godot, never coming. Most unfortunate.

UMMM we still haven’t concluded whether they emails are sent ACCEPTED, then WAITLISTED, then REJECTED.
