I emailed my ED college few minutes ago since I miscalculated time that I spent on the summer camp that I visited last year. I know that this issue is a trivial issue (2 weeks to 3 weeks and 20 hours per week to 40 hours per week), but I just wanted them to know how rigorous my summer camp was and how I really engaged myself into that program. Would colleges consider my newly calculated time as a legit time that I spent on my activity? Would there be any penalty for being careless and lazy applicant who can't do simple math?

It just won’t matter either way. Chill out and get your RD apps ready.

@brownparent Would they even bother to read my e-mail? I am okay with college administrators not reading my email but am not okay with them reading it and considering me as a stupid applicant who couldn’t do the simple math that even 4th graders can do.

Yes it will go into your file and be reviewed with your app. It is just not consequential in any way. Both the activity change and the email correction. Don’t give it another thought. They are not going to be overthinking it like you are, that’s for sure.

@brownparent in conclusion, my email would neither penalize nor boost up my chance of getting into that college right?

I don’t think that it was necessary to send an email. I highly doubt it would hurt you, though.
I think it’s more important that you did the activity rather than the amount of hours.
