Emailing my Supervisor Too Much?

I recently accepted an internship a few weeks ago, and I've been trying to get a set schedule as to what time and days I am interning each week, as well as when I'll be starting next semester. My problem is my supervisor doesn't email me back sometimes. I've gotten an answer for what days I'll be interning, but I still don't know what times. She emailed me asking what time is good for me, in which I responded, but she never emailed me back saying if it was OK or not. I also haven't really heard of where I should go from here. I don't want to keep bothering her with emails, but I'd like to get a gist of when I'll be starting. When does it become annoying for a supervisor if a future intern has been emailing back and forth about scheduling? She seems pretty laid back about things.

have you tried calling her directly and leaving a VM or speaking directly with her if she answers? Sometimes, a message that says “Hi (supervisor), I was just trying to touch base with you to confirm my start date and hours. I know you are busy, but if you could call me or shoot me an email with that information, I would appreciate it.”

Simple, short, polite, non-judgemental. She probably saw your email and meant to go back to it but did not. A sweet verbal reminder will help jar her memory.

Agreed… don’t worry about annoying her. Emails are not all that annoying since they’re so easy to ignore. A friendly phone call should iron things out just fine.

For what it’s worth, she might not know the specifics yet, so that could be why she isn’t responding to you yet.
