Emailing the Admission Office

Has anyone else had problems with emailing the admission office, using the address admi@rice.edu as posted under "Contact Information" on Rice's website? I've emailed them twice, once a few months ago and another time a few weeks ago, and never got responses. It wasn't urgent, but still - other colleges usually respond to emails within a couple of weeks. But I did end up calling them to ask questions after the second email, so it worked out anyway.

Just started this thread to see if anyone else has experienced a similar problem.

I have never received a response..

I e-mailed riceapps@rice.edu and got a response within 4 days. That e-mail address was from the common app info page.

2 for 3 here. They responded in less than 3 or 4 days. Calling is definitely easier though.

Ok, thanks for the replies. I guess calling would be the best way to go, in general.

We received a response and quite quickly too - here's their response and I don't blame them. Every call and inquiry takes them away from positive action - I mean processing an application regardless of the outcome.

Here's their response:

"At this time we are no longer providing application status updates via telephone or email as we are in the middle of processing a large volume of application materials. All Regular Decision applicants will receive an update in the next few weeks. If we find that you are still missing application materials at that time, you will still be allowed to re-submit these documents without penalty. "
