I'm gonna be a freshman next year and I probably bombed and I mean BOMBED the calc BC exam. I will probably take calc 1 first semester. In the placement exam, I will kinda dumb myself down so I can do well freshman year. It's just embarassing that going to a top university, I am probably the only one who bombed BC calc.

LOL.. what is the purpose of this thread lord12??

if you feel embarrased, why are you making this public?

that's alright lord12, I probably bombed my ap chem exam :)

well at least you took BC calc.. i didn't take it. i can guarantee you that you'll know at least one person worse than you at calculus. :)

lol i know i was bored

lol, dun worry...if you do well on the calc placement exam and go talk to your advisor, you might be able to go to calc II or calc III...

meh, I'm probably taking calc I even though I took AP calc AB....sure I guess I could test out of it but I'm a little weak on integration. If you were in BC you might consider at least completing the calc 1 information completely so you don't have to start there (unless you want to)

2 more weeks till u get ur ap exam grades =P

Based on the placement test, you can place into at least 6 different categories:

21-120 and Co-Calc: Calc 1 and a mini that helps with pre-calculus skills
21-120: Calc 1
21-121: Starts halfway through calc 1 and goes to halfway through calc 2, for students with some calc experience
21-122: Calc 2
21-123: A mini that starts halfway through calc 2
Credit for both semesters

I'm pretty afraid to take that Calc placement test (haven't taken it yet!) I sucked at Taylor series the first time around, so I know I won't be able to answer them well the second time lol.. I haven't done related rates stuff in a while either. Oh well..

P.S.- I haven't received any new information from CMU (besides the Welcome Packet and a "paying monthly" letter). Is this bad?
