I have to make my decision tomorrow. I have already paid and done roommate process for Western Washington University, but I just got accepted to the University of Washington, Seattle.
I did running start, continued community college for a year, and I am now a transfer. I want to major in psychology and minor in business or writing and go on to medical school at the UW.
I heard that more students from Western go to UW graduate school than from UW.
half the people I know are in favor of Western, the other half in favor of the UW. My heart says Western SO BADLY, but my mind reasons UW. If I do choose UW, I will cry. If I choose Western, I will worry that I made a mistake merit-wise, but I feel that I will earn a higher GPA and excel and stand out.
My ultimate question: if I go for a year to WWU and transfer for my senior year to UW....will that look bad? Would they even accept me since I already transferred once?
PLEASE HELP THIS IS TEARING ME APART.

I think you should go for WWU although I would choose UW, having admitted already. It is important to follow your heart as it drives your interest further. If you were to study in a place you don’t enjoy, you might start losing interest and eventually all your drives and inspirations. Even if WWU is not a good place to start off, with a good-driven passion and the smaller circle of competition, you can still do well overall and go where ever you want, isn’t that the main outcome? — so go for WWU!

however, a small rare group of people are the settle-for-present kind, and they usually get use and make themselves grow to love their environment eventually even if they didn’t like it initially. I belong to such a group of people, and if you are like me, you should go for UW as the place is awesome and I’m sure you will grow to love it gradually!

You will not be able to minor in business or writing if you go to UW.
List of minors here: [UW Advising - List of Minors](http://www.washington.edu/uaa/advising/majors/minoff.php)

If you heart says WWU, then go there. Otherwise you will regret it for the rest of your life. I promise you. Always follow your heart.

The odds of transferring from a 4 year university (unlike community college) is really bad. The odds of you getting in at UW later from WWU is possible but not probable.

Also, why would you want it your last year? Resume? You’d be listing both schools and the fact that you went to UW for only the last year. So that’s kind of a moot point. grad school? they will know your entire history as well…and transferring the last year (if successful) won’t make you look better

Thanks for the replies, that was actually quite helpful… Also, WWU only has a B.A. in psychology, while the UW has a B.A. and a B.S. Can I get into medical school with a B.A. or would that affect me?

BA vs. BS doesn’t matter

This is what matters:
