Hello, I have received a 19 on my ACT which I am very disappointed, but I know that if I want to go to the university of my dreams I have to increase it to at least 33. I really need your help since this was my first time taking the test. What books should I purchase to study? I already have the red ACT book but is their another book that can help me sharpen my skills and decrease my weaknesses. Also my mom told me that Kaplan is offering College Prep Advantage ACT course, is it really worth it? Does it really help? Please inform me. Thank you for all the advices in order to increase that 19 act score. Thank you!!

I suggest the Princeton Review because they break down information for you in each section. It looks like you need to work on the basics for everything, Princeton will help you with that.

Thank you so much for your answer, God bless you! :)

Should I purchase the Princeton Review “Cracking the ACT” or “1,296 ACT Practice Questions, 3rd Edition” Thank you for help.

Buy both. Each helps the other. 1296 is practice after you learn the stuff from cracking the act.

Doesn’t 3rd edition come out in Feb 2013? If you are taking the test before that buy the 2nd edition.

Ok thanks :)

19 to 33 is a huge jump. Not saying it’s unrealistic, but set a different goal first, attain that on practice tests, and keep increasing your goal score. You’ll be much happier that may with each improvement.
