did any of the early decision student sent out their W2 and tax return yet (to vanderbilt financial aid office)? is rite now considered late? if it is, would it affect anything?

It's not too late. Send your stuff as soon as possible, but don't panic.

No one from Vandy has requested that info from us. I didn't even know it was needed . . . oh, shoot!

Did they notify you all by letter?

i thought they were due by february 15th?

I've been doing this for 5 years now and I think that the expectation is that the Profile is complete at this point, as well as FAFSA. Copies of tax forms and W-2s are expected by April 15th or thereabouts. If those documents are substantially different from the financial aid information previously submitted, I suppose the FA office would contact you and make an adjustment. However, admitted students who apply for financial aid get a financial aid offer at the time of admission (or at least my two did). Good luck!

Oh, yes . . . we sent the FAFSA and the CSS PRofile January 31. But no one from Vandy has requested tax returns or W-2s from us. Should they have?

I suspect that a financial aid offer will remind you that the finalization of that offer is dependent on completion of the process, which will include copies of filed 2006 returns. There would be no need to for FA to be deluged with all of that additional paperwork from all applicants.

I checked the web sites of all my son's schools. Four of the CSS Profile schools use IDOC, and 2 wanted tax stuff. This is on Vandy's site at http://www.vanderbilt.edu/FinancialAid/freshman.htm

Steps in making application for financial assistance:

* Submit the College Scholarship Service Financial Aid Profile CSS/PROFILE.
* Submit copies of your and your parents' 2006 federal tax return with all attachments and W-2 forms to our office as soon as they are complete/available.
