I was looking in the Fiske Guide today and it said Vassar requires two SAT IIs. I thought it only required SAT IIs with the SAT I, and otherwise just the ACT. Please, please someone confirm this...I really don't want to submit my SAT IIs!!! Thanks in advance.

You're right, the website says either the SAT I and 2 SAT IIs, or the ACT.
Collegeboard lists the same testing requirements as Fiske Guide though... Maybe Vassar recently changed its policies?

I sincerely hope not...anyone else know? I would think the Vassar website would know, but since two reputable sources say otherwise, I'm not going to lay any bets.

Call or e-mail Vassar if the website doesn't answer your source. Go straight to the source, not to well meaning, but possibly misinformed strangers on anonymous boards.

You can relax: The Vassar website can be considered not just reputable, but authoritative, so it's safe to assume that Fiske and Collegeboard are either incorrect or out of date.

Vassar answers your questioneven more explicitly in the section on transfer students (and although it doesn't apply directly to first-yr. applicants, this should put your mind at ease that there's some weird typo on the Vassar admissions page):

"Students submitting ACT scores do not need to submit SAT I or II scores."

Well, what Collegeboard & Co are saying comes from the Common Data Set from either the class of 2009 or 2010. I think it is safe to assume that Vassar has simply changed its policies in the meantime, or maybe checked off the wrong box.
