<p>My mom just told me today that i have a problem with my loans for NYU. I already posted this in the financial aid forum but i frigured i'd put it here anyway. The problem is when we go to hesc.org and filled ou the loan thing we noticed that when we chose people's bank it said nelnet next to it. and now hesc.org says we are borrowing from nelnet. We looked it up and they have a history with scamming people out of their money! we called the hesc.org people and they said we must have clicked something wrong even though we did my student loan and we looked and that was the only people's bank to click. now the loan stuff is due on august 13th or something like that and the hesc.org people say if we want to re-do it it won't go through until august 23rd! we've been trying to contact the NYU people over and over again and nobody has gotten back to us.</p>

<p>First off, don't post these things.. They won't get answered as fast as you would like them to be. That being said, first call the bursar's office and explain (less confusingly than your post) your situation and that you would like an extension. They will be more than happy to give you one for as long as you need since you have a valid reason. Bursar's office works 9-5. Call them at 9 on Monday. Then contact the financial aid office, you probably (don't quote me on this) need an ELN form or something... Relax.</p>
