I received a message in the mail about the Emerging Scholars Program for Chemistry and applying to that, but I was already thinking of doing a FIG my freshman year. Does anybody know if I can do both? I have to apply to the Emerging Scholars Program by April 15th, but I don't know what I should do. Any info would be nice....thanks

Yeah i got nominated for the Calculus Emerging Scholars Program. I’d like to join a fig as well so if anyone knows the answer to Bearkat11’s question please do speak up :)

That’s awesome! Congrats! My parents really want me doing the Emerging Scholars Program, but the FIG really interests me too. I’m worried that if I apply to the Emerging Scholars Program I won’t be able to do the FIG. I feel like I’m panicking already. haha

I was in the same situation and chose just to do ESP.
It’s best to ask during orientation.

Alright because I was going to go ahead and apply to the ESP for Chemistry tonight or else I won’t make the deadline. I guess I will just wait to talk to someone at my orientation dates if I can still do the college FIG. Thanks for the input.

Yeah i guess its best to apply for the ESP program now in case. Congrats to you too!
