What do people think of Emerson College in Boston, MA. I have read that the acceptance rate has gotten very low and it has some very strong programs in film, acting and writing.

Looking forward to hearing from everyone!

I’ve heard it’s very good for arts and writing too. However, its campus is spread out among the streets of Boston - which you may or may not prefer (my daughter does not).

It is my son’s first choice – he will be a senior this year and will be applying EA to Emerson. He just completed their Young Filmmakers’ Program this summer. From what I have heard, their film program is very competitive.

Buuuummp. I still need help.

Emerson is amazing. I’m completely in love with the school and applying there early action for musical theatre. I think everything the school has to offer with the facilities and small student to teacher ratio is why so many people I know in are applyig.

Emerson College was on my list in the beginning since I want to go into Television Production. I don’t like the idea of an urban campus and it felt too techy. I also would like to focus on other academic interests while in college. I decided to apply ED to Ithaca College which has an excellent communications school.

I totally need advice on this one, too. Can I go there and take writing as well as other courses in the humanities, or is it almost completely focused on communications?
