He has a count down going, but it sounds like he may be adding some days to it. Fingers crossed for an acceptance for him and for everyone who loves this school too!
i applied to emerson for journalism. i loved the school before i visited, but afterward i felt like it was just too completely immersed in the city. it didn’t feel like a college. did anyone else have this reservation?
anyone know how we find out about decisions? is it on the portal or an email? definitely on the 15th???
I don’t think it will be exactly on the 15th, because they changed their website to say mid-December. Someone earlier said that could be the 11th-19th.
Did anyone else just get a private aid scholarship document added to their financial aid tab on their portal?
I’m curious as to if this means anything or if I’m reading into it too much.
Nothing on the financial aid tab for my son, Hope that isn’t a bad sign. Will they be notified on their application status or by email?
Nothing new on the financial aid page for me! I really hope this isn’t bad! Due to the overwhelming amount of Early Action applicants, I am guessing we will find out past the 15th. In years past, a popular “late” notification date was December 17th, but who knows!
Do you think we’ll get an email when they decide on the decision date? Or will we be randomly ambushed with it?
Hey, just found this post and figured I’d post some general stats! Applied with a 3.72 GPA (UW), 1380 SAT Score, and decent ECs. Looking to be accepted under the Business of Creative Enterprises major with a minor in either Writing, or Comedy: Writing and Performance. Really hoping we hear this week, but considering the extra amount of applicants and the dead line change on their website to “mid-december,” I have a feeling we won’t hear till the week of the 19th. My daughter got an email asking for additional financial documents. They asked for non-custodial parent financial and then a week later asked for a “child support paid” document.
I’m applying to the BFA in theatre program. Emerson is my absolute first choice and I’m waiting super anxiously. My GPA is a 4.08 W, 3.89 UW, and my highest ACT score was a 28 composite. I do a lot of theatre extracurriculars, I am on the youth leadership board for a local theatre company, my school’s theatre board, and on the board of a student run theatre company. Hi all! So I called admissions today, and they said that they are VERY behind for Early Action Applications. They said that you can start checking the portal on December 15th, but they don’t expect to be finished with decision notifications until “late december” so it looks like we are going to have some more waiting time than anticipated!
@sidarj21 Does that mean decisions will be released starting on the 15th a little at a time? Or will all the decisions be released on the same day sometime after the 15th?
yesterday admissions indicated decisions will prob begin 12/16 and roll out till the end of december
they will release by the order of completed applications

Ahhh! Hopefully I’ll find out soon… all my stuff was in by early sept.
Waiting/Anxiety is harder than I ever imagined on the whole family! It would be nice to know, obviously and hopefully for a positive decision. I have been trying to keep this positive, but also realistic in that he would be “a winner” at any of the schools on his list, however I know this is “the one” that will crush him if he doesn’t get in. Could really use some advice on how other parents are dealing with this time leading up to the big decision day ahead.
I think it’s hard on everyone. My daughter applied to 4 schools and has gotten into 3, but hasn’t heard from
Emerson. The only school she really wants to go to is Emerson. She got close to a $100,000 scholarship for a school in our home state, but won’t even discuss going there and it’s an excellent school. Our family is going with the premise that what is supposed to happen will and that we are not in control. Having said that, I am terribly anxious too. 
Oh boy, I applied Early Action to the film program and am checking my portal over and over again.
The anxiety is killing me!!! Can’t wait to hear from them!
When do people think the decisions are going to come out?
I called admissions and they said decisions are going to be available in a few days, maybe Thursday!!! So exccited/nervous!! They said an email will go out telling applicants to check the portal. The decisions will be posted there.

Decisions should be out “by the end of this week or the beginning of next.”

However, when I was on the phone wit him, after he checked my application, his voice seemed to get a little lower. I might be overthinking it, but that scares me!!! What if I didn’t get in?!
