My daughter is getting email from Emerson mentioning their Honors Program, which sounds attractive, although I'm not sure if it is compatible with an Acting major. Anyone out there who has done this?

It’s been a couple of years since my S applied, but I believe that you could be in either the BFA or BA program and still be accepted to the Honors program which required a separate application and essay altogether. The student who led the Performing Arts information session at our visit several years ago was in the program so it must be possible!

I’m a BFA Acting major at Emerson and I know that two of the people in my class are honors students. By the time you are a junior and you are in the BFA studio, I believe you only have your honors forum or conference or something, and thats just one credit so they work around your acting schedule. To cut to the chase, yes, it is possible.

This may be the wrong thread, but I was wondering if anyone knew anyone who was recently admitted into the honors program and their stats? Would anyone mind telling me my chances? I’m hoping to get a Journalism degree, and Emerson is my first choice. However, I’m in desperate need of the a half tuition scholarship.

I feel I wrote moderately good essays, pretty confident with them. I made a 5 on the AP Language and Composition Exam. My senior schedule includes AP Government, AP Environmental, AP Stats and AP Literature, along with Chorus, Band, and Musical Theatre. I’ve taken AP World History, AP US History (passed exam) and AP Language in the past, along with all honors courses and 3 years of honors Latin and 1 year of French. I believe my schedule has been rigorous.
