Good EC’s, Fashion Major, Good recs and rigorous high school. I also think my supplements are very well written (since I enjoyed writing them). I held two jobs during high school.
Accepted: Marketing Communications, also 2 merit awards
GPA UW 3.6
ACT: 31
Good ECs, Rigorous course work, great recs, passionate about field
Accepted to Media Arts (Film and Video) Production!!! Would be my first choice if I could afford it which I can’t since no honors college or merit scholarships so that majorly blows.
But yeah, still super flattered and hoping there’s still a way!!
GPA W: 3.7 I think? 97ish
SAT: 2040
Class Rank: top 7%
Mediocre ECs, Rigorous Courses, really good essays, my creative sample was lame af, but I guess not as lame as I thought??? Anyways, yeah! Super happy, but bummed about not getting into the honors college (it was probably bc my honors essay was soooo stupid and dumb and bad honestly…)
Also congrats to everyone who got in!!!
Accepted for Marketing Communications with the Dean’s Scholarship and Pinnacle Scholarship (21k/year total)
GPA: 4.2 (school doesn’t give out unweighted)
Class Rank: 4/62
SAT: 1970
6 APs, good ECs, rigorous course load. I was happy with both my essay and supplements.
Congrats to everyone who got in! I was rejected from Northeastern today so hearing some good news from Emerson was really nice.
Accepted into the Writing, Literature, and Publishing program but with no merit award or Honors Program acceptance. To say I’m devastated would be an understatement. I was really depending on some sort of merit aid as Emerson has been my top choice school for over 2 years now. I’m not sure what I’ll do now, honestly. I thought I deserved something but then again looking through this thread, all of you guys deserved something too. @belmarietta, I was also somewhat rejected from Northeastern today. I got the NU In-Program thing which is just a step above being wait listed. Is that what you got too?
GPA: 4.5 weighted, 3.8 unweighted
Class Rank: They won’t tell us our specific ranking because my school doesn’t do rankings for some reason? I know I’m in the top 10% though.
SAT: 1990
4 APs, good ECs (Drama Club for 4 years, plus other productions outside of school, really involved and have been successful in music, leadership positions in NHS and Key Club, etc.), and I was happy with my essays and my supplements. Though, I’m going to go out on a limb and say they probably weren’t that great considering, lol. (Sorry, just beating myself up here.) Also, I’m definitely passionate about my field!
@jjmopp I was flat out rejected, no N.U.in or waitlist unfortunately. I’m super sorry to hear you got no merit award/Honors! Your stats are awesome and that doesn’t make sense, I would definitely try and file a financial aid appeal or something. (btw, I love your icon!)
Accepted into Media Arts (Film and Video)
Unweighted GPA: 3.39 (at the time of applying) 3.55 (now)
Highest SAT composite: 1870
Class Rank: School does not rank
Honors/AP: 4 Honors, 1 AP
EC’s: Really involved in service activities and international missions trips, Student Council President, founder of A/V club and broadcasting station, Poetry Out Loud Recitation Competition State Champion 2014, Member of NHS, etc.
Anyone who is looking at this, apply no matter what!!! I never expected to get accepted and I know I would have regretted it if I had passed up the opportunity. Do it!
Accepted into Writing, Literature, and Publishing major!
W GPA: 3.8
SAT: 2320 (single sitting, CR 800, M 720, W 800)
Honors/AP: 5 Honors, 9 AP
Rank: 85/540, approx. top 16% (super competitive high schools suck)
EC’s: lots of arts (drama, journalism, jazz choir, dance)
Essays: Common App was really good, Emerson essay was written in about two minutes, tbh, but it was still really strong.
Recs: I know the english one was great, idk about the others
National Merit SemiFinalist
I’m super excited about this, and was really honored when I got the Dean’s Scholarship! (Emerson is now semi-affordable!!!) My only regret is not applying for the Honors program. Congrats to everyone else who got in!!
