Emerson vs. Chapman

Hi everyone,

I'm having a hard time choosing between Emerson and Chapman, so I have been contacting current students on both sides, doing research, reading, etc... But still, can't decide.

And with all that I read I just became more and more confused. For example, almost most people agree that Chapman's facilities are great. On the other hand, some say that the teaching staff and curriculum at Chapman is poor which again SOME disagree with.

As for Emerson, most people say that it's GREAT!, NICE! ,ETC! (especially and NATURALLY the people who attend there)

And as you can imagine, I feel like I couldn't get a true sense of these two schools, their strenghts, their weaknesses and because I don't live in U.S, I unfortunately lack the chance of visiting them.

So, I'm asking for your insight and advice..

THANK YOU SO MUCH!
(film production, undergrad, oh and also I plan to minor in business or a related subject)

Emerson has some talented students in their marketing program but if you are after classic b-school courses like finance, accounting etc. look elsewhere.

I toured Emerson’s film school facilities. Very impressive. If you really want a career in some aspect of film, this is a clear strength of theirs. If your idea is to work 10 hours on your project, get some rest and get back to it, Emerson may be for you. If that doesn’t sound like you, run away. I also met some of their faculty. I was quite impressed. Film students come and go but if you excel at Emerson they have the Hollywood connections where you at least a chance at a career.

I know nothing about Chapman other than they offer more business class options and have a strength in film studies as well.

Boston is a great place to go to school. I can’t speak to Orange County other than the weather won’t suck.
