Emglish R1A or Math 1A

I seriously don't know which class to choose in phase I. I'm a premed so I have to take both. Math is more important but I don't know if I should register for that class during Phase I because there are more spots available compared to English R1A.

The R&C requirement classes fill up more quickly, according to CalSo counselors. So, given their advice, you should register for R1A during phase I.

However, remember that you do not have to take R1A your first semester. It's important to continue with mathematics, as it's the only subject that requires continuous practice.

When do I have to take the R&C by?

Also, do med schools only take English R1A as their 1 year of english requirement? They don't take other R&C courses?

no, you can take any of the r&c courses to fulfill med school's english requirement

It is recommended that you finish both halves of the R&C by the end of your sophomore year, however there are seniors who finish the R&C their last semester.

(However, some capped majors require that you finish the R&C at the end of two years, prior to admission into the major.)

Thanks for the responses. Seriuos? You can take any R&C courses to fulfill the medical school requirement? Even rhetoric or asian american studies?

Yes, and the "studies" R&C classes are a helluva lot easier than the English or Rhetoric classes.

I learned a LOT in rhetoric R1A. The professor was so helpful that the way I write has changed fundamentally, as in a 180 degrees turn. So while the rhetoric r&c courses have the reputation of being more difficult, you WILL improve your writing skills.

was rhetoric r1a hard?
