Emma Watson Gears Up For Ivy League Life - omg! news on Yahoo!

Who the **** cares about Emma Watson’s social life?

She’s academically superior and an international movie star.

Was I supposed to care?

^^cared enough to respond lol

Who is she??

^ A fair point. I really don’t care where Emma Watson goes to college - Brown or Boise State, it doesn’t matter to me either way. But I guess I do care about the fact that this topic comes up about 20 times a day for completely unclear reasons.

i thought she was going to Columbia

I wonder why celebrities who are movie stars, singers, etc. always study English or some humanity. All right, humanities aren’t that bad, but it does make me feel that those people will not become anything else, besides what they already are. It also makes me feel that they are not there for the academics.

Well, Emma is obviously okay in the money department. The study of English literature is a natural extension of drama/theatre. Why would it surprise you that someone who doesn’t have to worry about earning a living would study the humanities? Our universities were originated as places where those who didn’t have to worry about earning money could gain refinement and culture through the study of great books / minds. Trades were studied in trade schools or through apprentiships. Only in more recent years have some universities become places to learn a “trade.” I would say the study of English is quite academic.

Well those people already have a career, obviously, so they don’t really need to study anything pre-professional. Which leaves humanities.

I thought she was going to Columbia.

Every on the Internet it says she will be going to Brown University. It doesn’t matter where she is going she is taking a spot away from another student. Why did I say that? It’s because she is going to be an actor all of her life and she is not going to live in the US for the next 50 years of her life, so why does she want a US education?

my opinion for Brown just dropped a notch.

^^ She’s extremely smart though!
It’s not like she’s Paris Hilton and is just going to screw with all (if they have them at Brown) of the good looking people for four years.

And I’m pretty sure a world-famous actress who also happens to be smart sounds a lot more promising and impressive than a middle-class nerd who does a few mediocre E.C.'s. I think any college, from Harvard to whatever would’ve accepted her.

Admissions people want to meet celebrities just as much as any other slack jawed fan.

how do you know she isn’t qualified?

+1 for who gives a crap.

Brown will get so many more applications because Emma Watson is going there.

I think it’s great she’s coming here for college. She’s probably more talented than almost anyone at Brown. She’s obviously smart when she opens her mouth and no one could have better extracurriculars than her’s. It would have been stupid of Brown to reject her.

Oh sheeeesh. JFK Jr went there. That >>>>>>>>some minor actress.

I heard from one of my closest friends who is a Harvard tour guide that Miss Watson is raunchy in the sack…

Aka… she is very promiscuous with guys and is big on parties… She is going to get hit on by so many Brown guys.
