I just got the big box with the balloon in it. very funny. too bad I'm not going.

I got one of those tooo but a long time ago! I’m not going either.

wait, why aren’t you going?

I know one girl. She is going there next year. She got accepted with the Davis scholarship.

Why aren’t you going?!?!?! I thought you loved Emma Willard!

Look up Emmers44’s posts; there’s a recent discussion on one of the FA boards about Miss Hall’s giving her FA and Emma not. Sorry, but I don’t know how to send a link here.

HAve any of you decided to go to EW this year?
@ Jumpstartzoe:I guess u’r going, rite? As a sophomore or freshman?
@nns91: Who’s the girl u’r talking about? Do you know anyone attending EW with the Davis scholarship?

If I can get the money, then I am most definitely going!
I’ll be a frosh, you?

I’m probably going as a sophomore. Hic, I’m still trying to figure out how the paper works…Do you have any idea about the tuition refund plan? Btw, when do you have FA decision?(April 10th?). Where are you going to?(if not EW). Sr if i was so bold to ask that question.

The Tuition Refund Plan is required of all Emma Willard families. In the case of extended absences, withdrawal, or dismissals, this plan protects your financial commitments to your daughter’s education against loss. Families who pay tuition in full by July 15 may request a waiver to opt out of the plan.

That’s what it says on the website, but you should contact Emma Willard if you have any questions.

According to the waitlist procedures, I won’t find out until late spring or early summer…

But hopefully I’ll know sooner, once they get more decisions back they’ll see how much money they have available.
I’m just trying to stay positive!

If I don’t go to EW, public school in Florida for me!

Did you apply to any other schools?
Are you definitely going to Emma?
I think you said you’re international, right?
What country?

I surely did apply to other school. However, since i got the FA i need at EW, i decided that i would go there. I’ll tell you where I am from when I see you at Emma…Haha! So c u there!

It’s a really great school, you won’t be sorry!
Hahahaha, gosh now I’m really curious–hopefully I’ll see you there!

Have you contacted the school? If not, I think you should.

Just contact the office, tell them how much you love the school, what particular aspect of EW appeals to you…I have some friends who did so and got into Blair and Trinity(Uni i guess). I know a girl who is on the same boat with you, but she totally doesn’t deserve it as she cheated. You deserve it more than her. So try your best to convince the admission office!

Btw, do u know much about Davis scholarship?

I wrote them like an 8 page letter and my mom has been in contact with Jeremy (FA guy).
So I guess that’s all I can do for now.

What school is cheater girl trying to go to?

Mhm, I know that you have to be an incoming 10th, 11th, or 12th grader.
And also if you get it then they help you pay for college once you graduate.
Did you get it?

Wow? 8 pages? You must be crazy about EW.
Guess where the cheater girl is trying to get into? EW! That cheater copied my bestfriend’s essay. She does not deserve to go anywhere…Agr…I’m still freaking mad about it…

Oh believe me, I am!
Wow, that’s horrible, but I’m glad she’s not cheating on FA.
I know someone who’s doing that (or at least I think she is), but hopefully Emma will see that.
Did she copy the essay like word for word or just kind of reword it?

Nah, I think Emma can’t see that since it is my bestfriend’s essay for another school. She didn’t copy word for word, but she did steal the idea(which i think is quite new and interesting) and reword some parts. I am surprised that she still talks to me and my friend proudly about her acceptance to EW!

I am about to reply to EW…This is a really big decision…I hope I’m making the right one.

Best wishes to you jumpstartzoe.

I guess she doesn’t think the essay is the only thing that got in her in, but that still doesn’t make stealing someone’s idea right.

Trust me, you’re making the right decision.
Emma is great school on every level.
No regrets, Ntmngoc!
:)

I’ll be sending the materials tomorrow…hic…Dun know why but i’m kinda scared!

God, I wish I was scared for that reason, not because I may not be able to get money and go!

I know that it’s a big decision, but I think you’ll really love EW.
What’s the worst that can happen?
You’ll hate it?
Well don’t worry, you’re not going to.
