Emma Willard

NOTE: I’m not sure if this is the right place for this thread but it seemed fitting.

Any girls going to Emma Willard freshman year? I got off the waitlist a few days ago and am excited to go! I would love to chat with some other girls going to Emma in the fall or girls that are there now :slight_smile:

Congratulations!!

Congratulations @snowyowlgal! My good friend’s daughter is a junior at Emma, and they absolutely love the school. This year she has been talking in particular about how great the college counseling process has been.

@Golfgr8 Thanks :slight_smile:

@CTMom21 Thank you :slight_smile: That’s good to know!

Be honored and proud to carry on the tradition-- we know alumni now in their 70’s & 80’…, you will step through those doors and feel the history and the legacy passed on to your generation. Thank Emma for making it possible for girls to gain higher education ( beyond religion and finishing schools). You can see her letters to the pioiticians of her day. She fought hard for young women to make higher education a reality for young women 200+ years ago. Plus, IMHO it’s a mist beautiful setting — two great movies were filmed there: The Emperor’s Club & Scent of A Woman. Watch the films then try to find the locations on campus. Famous stairs & old library used in the films. The art building is amazing!
