<p>I'm asking for a friend who is an international student. This is her situation...she needs aid.</p>

<p>Yikes. . .pretty varied group. Too bad Macalester didn't offer aid. .it is a much, much stronger liberal arts college (LAC) than Emmanuel. </p>
<p>UBC is huge compared to both LACs and not really a known quantity in the US. But I understand that it is the premier university in Western Canada, and I would not sneeze at job opportunities in the Vancouver area! Also, if that $18,000 is Canadian dollars the cost is closer to Emmanuel than it looks.</p>
