I know there are a lot of skeptics, but this music is awesome in my opinion. So this can be a discussion thread and also share some of your favorite "emo" bands and songs, etc. Also, I;m not emo in personality, just my taste in music haha.

I do enjoy Straylight Run but I hate Dashboard Confessional with a sizeable vengeance.

Panic! at the Disco*
The Academy Is...*
Jack's Mannequin*
FOB*
Senses Fail*
Taking Back Sunday*
The Used
Hawthorne Heights
Something Corporate

Senses Fail
Taking Back Sunday
Straylight Run
Dashboard Confessional
Death Cab for Cutie (I beg to differ, but that's what the magazines say)

I just got acquainted to it. I love emo lyrics, so I'm coming back for more!

Oohh i like Death Can too but I consider them more indie./

I like all the ones you guys have mentioned excpet for dashboard...the best is straylight run

How can you hate Dashboard? They've inspired me to further my efforts in playing the guitar!

their guitar playing sucks anyways...its the same stuff over and over and over.. at least thats my opinion. I like emo music but in general its not very complicated, interesting music to play. For that I look into metal, blues or jazz.

if you really want to here something that will motivate you to practice more ( it definitely motivated me) put on some yngwie malmsteen, the guy is a genius.

Oh c'mon, Yngwie is more of an athlete than a musician. Anyway, that's off-topic...

huh? Death Cab is EMO? Have you seen the members of the band ("band")?

uhh i definitely clarified that.

Secondhand Serenade.

No, you didn't...

wth is death can.

uhh i did. I said I consider Death Cab to be indie. kthanks.
