eMo?

well lately i have been lessoning to emo bands like Hawthorne Heights and A Static Lullaby. some people think that emo sucks but if you actually pay attention to it they are very deep. Am i the only one in here that actually likes that kind of music?

haha, please tlel me you are joking

if you ACTUALLY listen they are very deep?

oh man, that is rich.

yup you should check out hawthorne heights and lisson to ohio is for lovers

lessoning?

wow

ik no good spelling

o man i heare u thay aar so deep.

it's not really spelling that's the issue, but okay.

yea man, those depressing middle school years and those damn teenage girls are heartwrenching.

i'm gonna go back to my to bed to cry myself to sleep now....

isn't it ironic that all emo bands do is cry and moan about lost love, depression, wanting to commit suicide, and talk about the seriousness of their music, yet never actually Kill Themselves in the end? 'tis odd.

Okay this is the most hilarious thread I have ever seen on any message board.

It's because they're not cutting deep enough.

Do you guys think Death Cab for Cutie is emo?

yea or at least along the lines of it

No, DCFC are not emo. They are Indie at best.

As a genre, I wouldn't classify them into emo, but their music is still pretty emo. If that makes any sense.

While some emo is may be pretty catchy, you cant go and say that it is deep. The lyrics they write arent what they are actually feeling and thinking. As a musician myself, I know that these bands write these "emo" or "deep" lyrics just so teenage kids will buy their cds. Emo is a generic form of music in which new bands copy the formula used by other bands. They pick the topics that sold the most records in the past. When they talk about cutting their wrists or stuff like that, they are most likely not going through the situations they sing about. Pesonally, I"m sick and tired of hearing singers of some of these sissy emo bands crying about how they lost their girlfriends and they want to kill themselves over it.

Remember, if you want to cut, go the long way.

Emo stuff blows.

i don't think death cab is emo, although a lot of people do think ben gibbard is whiny. that's not to say all emo is whiny, but you do have to admit a lot of it is nasaly white boys singing about depression. it's not a particularly accessible type of music. for the record, i don't think all emo is bad. bright eyes has some okay songs, and some people consider elliott smith emo, and i love love love him. emo just like every other genre in that it includes a ton of crap along with a few good bands. i haven't listened to any of the stuff you mentioned, so i can't tell you which side of the line your tastes fall under. lol.

I hate emo.

emo sucks, it gets boring when all they sing about is how they got rejected or lost their girlfriends
