Solid essays IMO
no hooks

Pretty happy considering my utter lack of ECs.

Into Oxford, the only one I had applied too!!!

Rejected from Emory, but how do we check our status for Oxford?

rejected from ucla, cmu… waitlisted at washu

and accepted at emory. just wow

Oh, if anyone wants my stats (accepted)
GPA UW: 4.0

ECs: Band, drama, literary, lots of leadership, etc
Merit commended student
At least one of my teacher recs was really awesome and great
My essays were good, except one of them said magnifying class instead of glass…whatever man. I guess they didn’t notice my mistake.

DD was accepted at Oxford/rejected at Emory. No mention of financial aid – @thatoneman, where did you hear that fin aid info will be available April 1?

Accepted!!! Gosh I really needed this win! So excited right now!

Anyway- Stats:
GPA (weighted)- 4.35
SAT: 2270/1540 R:800 W:730 M: 740 - one sitting (not sure if that matters or not)
ACT: 32
ECs: Philosophy club, College Bowl, Volleyball, Merit Commended, a decent amount of service, leadership, etc.

Waitlisted @ UVA, WUSTL, Pitzer (wth)
Denied @ UNC, Clairemont McKenna, Colorado College (again, wth?)
Accepted @ Villanova, University of Denver, and now Emory!!!

This might make some of you UCLA people mad, but my friend got in there with a 3.3 (UW) and like an 1800. He is from MA, so he isn’t in state. No extraordinary ECs besides volleyball. In fact, they told him that if he doesn’t pull his B-'s up to B’s, then they are reconsidering his admissions decision. Interesting right?

Good luck to everyone in their college search!

D was accepted at Emory did not apply to Oxford…she was also accepted to GIT so thinking of doing the 3+2 program in BME
stats SAT 2000ish
AP scholar with distinction
IB Diploma student with 3.86 UW and 4.54W in a very challenging curriculum.
Tons of ECs. V good essays and recommendations:)
No fin aid info so far.

This might be a dumb question for someone accepted to Emory, but what is the difference b/t Oxford and Emory. I know that Oxford is the 2 yr liberal arts school that automatically transfers to Emory after successful completion, but is there more?

Thank you, jr. (If you see this.)
