<p>I'm visiting Emory this October and want to know what you guys think of my chances.</p>
<p>GPA: 3.8w but good grade trend (3.5 frosh... 3.6 soph... 4.3 junior)

<p>AP- US His: 5 Bio: 5</p>
<p>ECs:
Basketball: 9-12
Cross Country:10-12 captain
National Honor Society: 12</p>

<p>Why a reach? What do you percieve as the weakest part of my stats?</p>

<p>SAT and SAT II's (and AP's) are good. GPA will be viewed relative to your high school. They will look at your high school's profile to see what the average gpa is at your hs. You are still in the top 10% and you have a rising trend, and you can continue the trend into senior year for the mid-year senior report. Based on all of that, I think Emory is a match. Show a lot of interest in the school by visiting, ordering the dvd, telling why you want Emory, and etc. Work on your EC's so that you highlight any interests that you have. You don't look unique enough.</p>
<p>Your test scores are fine. but, your gpa is below Emory's average GPA for incoming freshman. That's why I consider Emory to be a bit of reach.</p>
