Emory Acceptance Rate = 1300/16000?

Hey guys, I just got an email from Jean Jordan. The email said there was around 16000 applicants and only 1300 got accepted. This makes the acceptance rate 8.13%. Is this true?

This is a c/p from the mail:
"I commend [name] on the outstanding academic and extracurricular achievement in high school. Simply put, Emory’s Class of 2014 is our most competitive yet. Out of approximately 16,000 applications, the Admission Committee has selected an especially strong group of students for the 1,300 seats in our freshman class. Based on their high school accomplishments, we know these admitted students will be future leaders: researchers, economists, professors, writers, health care providers, and world-changers in many areas and professions."

Nah. There’s 1300 seats. So they accept 4000 ish to take acount those who go other places

^Yup couldnt say it any bettet^

So 4,000/16,000 got in? 25.0 % - I think it’s more though. That NY Times article posted under College Admissions had Emory at 28.6% admittance rate this year…

It is 28.6% this year according to the Emory Wheel here

Emory’s acceptance rate went doen by 0.2% … same average GPA as last year (3.84UW) but average SAT went up to 1400… it has gone from 1380 from two years ago so thats a good trend. Now, Emory has to work on getting more apps.

I WANNA GO TO EMORY!!! T-T i hope i get accepted next year.

This doesn’t factor in the Oxford College acceptances right? Hopefully not.

No, it does not. These stats. only refer to the Emory applicant pool.
