Emory admissions process

i just wanted to say that im kinda annoyed with the emory admissions process. so i JUST recieved a letter in the mail sayin that they recieved all the essential materials for my application. they JUST RECIEVED the complete packet. i submitted my application MONTHS ago, sent in my secondary school forms myself b/c my counselor has a lot on his hands, sent in fafsa, css profile, EVERYTHING. but they emailed me once saying they did not recieved my high school transcript or counselor rec, even though it was in the same envelope as everything else. so i sent them again. then ONE WEEK AGO, they emailed me saying hat they still did not recieve my counselor rec, even though they recieved my high school transcript & everything was in the same envelope. so DECISIONS come out in less than a week, but they apparently JUST recieved my complete packet. that just REALLY REALLY upset me. i worked so hard on the application & they just kept losing my stuff. sorry, just wanted to put that out there.

they seem to be slow about sending stuff like that out...

That's annoying, but couldn't you just check OPUS to see if your application was complete?

i did check opus. i jus kept sending stuff & they kept losing it. grrr.

Yeah, I had the same problem. They kept saying that they didn't have my transcripts even though I sent it in waaayyyy before I applied. My guidance counselor ended up sending in 4 transcripts because weeks would go by and they still hadn't received them. AND THEN they called and asked why I sent in 4 transcripts. I was like, "Are you kidding me?" It was sort of ridiculous. I don't hold it against the school as a whole though. Emory is great.

so, i'm a tour guide here, and the admissions officers told me that they received over 17000 applications this year, which is way over what they were expecting...I know it's not an excuse, but they're definitely in a little over their heads (they were expecting about 15000)
