It has always been that way. I am a 1994 grad. I was not a finalist for the scholarships but I was admitted to the school during the scholarship notification period. Other people did not get the scholarship and were told to wait for March and some got a out right no. That of course was February of 1990 and it came via US mail.
I’m assuming people still got in around the March time period
Best of luck to everyone today! Congratulations to those who get in (and get some $$ too lol) and if you don’t get in there’s always another chance in March! And if you ultimately don’t get what you previously wished, just remember your path is just being steered in a different direction. You are all destined for great things and I wish everyone the best!!!
anyone get anything yet?
nothing yet
Yes. No scholarship, application being reviewed for 4/1 decision
app being reviewed for 4/1 as well
can you get in now w/out being a finalist?
DD22 got notified she’s an Emory Scholar Finalist, so proud of her! Wish all of you good luck!
I could not get into my portal earlier and AM A SCHOLAR FINALIST Aka, portal astrology is nothing to worry about, just wait for decisions
Did anyone who got in ED get accepted to Emory Scholars? I suspect they only use them for RD applicants they are trying to attract.
Congratulations AugustBloom! And anybody else who received the finalist status or was accepted early. Unfortunately, it’s going to be another 6 weeks of winter here. Do you mind sharing stats?
Thank you and best wishes for March! DD’s stats are 5.16 weighted, 36 ACT, OOS. Won a couple national awards, EC’s pretty good but nothing crazy.
No luck for my kiddo, alas. Congrats to those who got in!
Anyone not get selected as scholar finalist, but got an early admit with $100K scholarship? Curious on the numbers for those.
Does anyone know what proportion of finalists receives the scholarship?
I am as well. From what I’ve seen, I’ve only heard people got the “until 4/1” decision
No but is about 40 years they have only had 820 woodruff scholars and that counts both campuses.
My daughter didn’t get Honors, which is fine, but I personally think this is a terrible first exposure to Emory - a negative letter of rejection. And now they want her to be happy getting accepted? She is happier to go to another school which sent her an acceptance without preceding it with a rejection. Emory should rethink its strategy if they want kids to be excited about their school and thus improve their yield.
Agree. Just notifying the finalists might be a better strategy, instead of disappointing 10800 out of 11000
Hi! I got selected as a finalist! I’m so excited. My question is if I go to the virtual weekend, does this mean I definitely get the scholarship. Like I’m guaranteed a full ride or do I still have to go through interviews and such?
