"Emory Advantage" shows up on financial aid page

Did this box with "Emory Advantage" on it show up on everyone's financial aid page? It's their program for loans. It could just be a generic thing they send to everyone but my D has been accepted to two schools so far and both had changes in the financial aid pages. Or- I could just be hoping it's so in this case.

I don’t see it showing up. What page is it on?

i’ve had that for the past few weeks, although i’m not sure if it has any real meaning or not

Go onto your OPUS and go to the financial aid page. I think it says “Finances”. If everyone has it- then it is nothing. If not then it could mean good news but not necessarily bad news if you don’t have it.

Trackie10x- it wasn’t there all along was it? It “appeared” one day?

i really have no idea because i didn’t begin checking the financial aid part of my opus until a couple weeks ago and it was there then…

Does anyone not have it?

We have it.

I do not and never have had the Emory Advantage option on my page. I happen to know that I am ineligible for it. The program is not just for loans, though. If you’re in the first tier of Advantage, they will replace your loans with free grants. Go to www.emory.edu/FINANCIAL_AID/emory_advantage for more information.

I’m not eligible for financial aid. I’m an international student. I can still see the block.

Yea i think everyone has it. It’s an image on the bottom right.

Also have it on the bottom right. When will they update OPUS?? Sigh…

It is on my page and I am eligible. I don’t think it’s a sign of anything other than them perhaps being done with your financial package.

We’re not eligible. It’s just suspicious that it just showed up there yesterday. I wouldn’t think anything of it if it wasn’t for the two times something sort of similar has happened to us. Who knows! Good luck everyone!

I have it and I think I had seen it long ago as well.

It’s like that Grinnell pioneerweb issue - where the emails changed to @grinnell.edu and everyone thought that it meant they were accepted.

I hope the decision comes out soon.

It doesn’t mean anything… I didn’t apply for finaid, and it is on my finances page.

^Yeah, it doesn’t mean anything. It has always been there for me.

i don’t think it means anything… I applied for financial aid and that has been there…

…but this is werid…

A week ago, I got accepted to Oxford. I planned on visiting it, and the only link on OPUS that was there was Oxford College. I went back to that link today, and the Emory college visitation days popped up, even though there were no days there.

Does anybody think this is a sign. I mean, they wouldn’t tell me to visit if I didn’t get in…would they…

Do you have a link to pay your deposit?
